Conference for female engineers

International Women Engineers Conference

As part of the ProF@THGA project, the THGA invites you to the first International Women Engineers' Conference on 20 March 2024. It is aimed at (young) female scientists, (young) female engineers from all engineering and economics disciplines. You are invited to give lectures, design posters or staff information stands where inspiring projects, scientific work, etc. can be presented. There is also the opportunity to take part in exciting breakout sessions.

The aim of this conference is, among other things, to network women in science, to promote their enthusiasm for research and innovation and to find out about study and career opportunities at the THGA.
Topic: Sustainability in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The theme of the first International Women Engineers' Conference at the THGA is sustainability in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs are the United Nations' political objectives for sustainable development. They deal with social, economic and ecological aspects. The UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals include: high-quality education, affordable, clean energy, industry, innovation and infrastructure. The sustainability goals are not only intended to narrow down the subject areas of the conference, but also to offer new opportunities for presentations, posters and information stands.

The contributions at the conference will focus on how innovation and research can contribute to achieving the SDGs.

The SDGs play a decisive role in the research and further development of the THGA. As the oldest university in the city of Bochum, the THGA is looking to the future and pursuing the goal of living sustainability in all areas of the university, not only in the design of the campus, but also as a sustainable oasis of knowledge. The THGA is also committed to communicating sustainability as a lived practice to students and staff in the areas of teaching and research.

The conference is intended to make a valuable contribution to this.
